FinVector Oy is one of the world's largest manufacturers of virus-based gene therapy drugs. The company's new production facility to be built in Kuopio, Finland is scheduled to be completed in 2024 near FinVector's current premises. FinVector is applying for a LEED environmental certificate for the sustainable development of construction for its new unit. During the construction phase, environmental goals largely guided product and material purchases.
FinVector is a family-owned company, and largely respecting these values. Another family company, Rakennusliike U. Lipsanen Oy, with whom Peikko has already cooperated in several projects, was chosen as the main contractor for the project.
Peikko delivered to the site 75 pieces of PETRA® slab hangers, TERAJOINT® and TERAJOINT® Strong movement joint systems totaling approximately 500 meters, and in addition other connecting parts for prefabricated construction.
"Cooperation in this project was smooth thanks to our long relationship and regular site meetings. The delivery schedule was perhaps a bit tight and the products deviated from the standard ones, but I believe that it was precisely with good customer service and the team's common goal of solving the customer's challenges that we reached the finish line with honor in this project as well, and delivery reliability was maintained. Peikko team was flexible and put in the effort to get the products to the site on time," says Jussi Happonen, Sales Manager of Peikko Finland.
